I haven’t written much lately. Mostly, I’ve been diving into research for a larger project (reading recommendations below)! But here are a few summer-ready playlists I’ve put together recently just for the fun of it. Hope you enjoy!
Rabbit Room Summer - I curated this with a group of good friends and fellow music lovers for the Rabbit Room. In addition to my summer beach party jams, we’re having elegant nights drinking wine and overlooking the sea with Frank Sinatra or Astrud Gilberto; we’re “Feeling Good” with Nina Simone; we’re “Coming In Hot” with Lecrae and Andy Mineo; we’re Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything…
Take Me To The Feeling - This started with Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Run Away With Me” (a JAM) as a flavor profile for a 2-hour pop mix that, I think, is just the most fun.
so many songs about rainbows - This started with hearing the Rolling Stones’ “She’s A Rainbow” used in a YouTube ad and realizing, I like a lot of songs about rainbows (and what’s on the other side). So here’s that…
It also just occurred to me that Kacey Musgraves appears on all three of these playlists. The lesson here is: Go and listen to Kacey Musgraves.
Oh yeah, I guess I said I’d share what I’m reading. So here’s that too!
